Rara Avis: Lat. “Strange bird”. amb. coloq. Person or thing, regarded as a singular exception to any rule. Refers to a person or thing that is hard to find. It is used in the sense of unusual or extraordinary.

We are seeking, in daily basis, our “strange birds”, oddities that transport us to another level, out of the ordinary. In our creative acts we need to somehow grasp the unusual, the exotic, the unattainable. We undertake this task lighting our way through flashes of insight and genius, moving blindly through the tangle of thoughts and obsessions that drive us to create and eventually mutate ourselves in rare birds, developing a unique vision, singular and extraordinary in the world which we operate.

Aves Raras (Rare Birds) orbit around an idea or central concept. It arises from the term “rara avis”. Thus, these words trigger creative results which are bonded in a conceptual level. Hybrid Music in which various related genres, such as concrete, electronic and electroacoustic music, live and fuse together, Rare Birds poses a perceptual dare and challenges us as listeners..

Steady beats? No, thanks. Better a walking with a lot of stumbling. Going through a syncopated swing twisting the groove all the time, stumble style, dodging with instinct and simultaneously being filled of cuts transformed on survival. In this way, Yamil Burguener bring us a powerful four tracks of Jazzy Minimal Abstract Ep. A full disjointed dance he found all his walking basses and improvised phrases, retaking some jazz spirit in Cordoba in the ´90s when then he was a young bass player and he shared the stage with his old mates Pablo Fenoglio, Nicolás Mazza, Esteban Ochoa, Esteban Gutierrez, Esteban Sosa, Marcelo Escudero with others musicians and friends.

Argentinan electroacoustic music composer and sound artist. In 1993 he started studying Musical Composition at Universidad Nacional de Cordoba. His works is mostly focused on electroacoustic music, sound art and its relations with other artistic disciplines and exploring different media such as visual arts, multimedia, animation, performing arts, installations, etc. Participating in several projects and activities organized by local cultural institutions like Goethe Institut, Centro Cultural España-Cordoba, Universidad Nacional de Cordoba, etc.

Also, he participated in numerous national and international concerts and festivals such as: the ARCEMA group concert (Paris, France) in Cordoba 2001, XVII and XVIII Reunion Nacional de Musica Electroacustica at Centro Cultural Recoleta Buenos Aires 2002, CEPIA – Cordoba 2003, “Synthese 2003” and the concert series The Creation of the World (Bourges – France), III International Festival of Electrónic Arts 404-Astas/Roma(Rosario 2006), etc.
Among his electroacoustic pieces we can find Calvario (2001-2004), Back to the Guitar (2002), Casa del tiempo (2003-2006).

“Back to the guitar” earned in 2002 the Concurso Universitario de Composición held by Universidad de Quilmes, Argentina, in addition it was selected as finalist at Composition Internacional Competition “Luigi Russolo”

He attended several courses, seminars and conferences organizad by important artists and composers, among others Klaus Schöning, Ricardo Bianchini, Giacomo Manzoni,Roberto Doati, Carmelo Saitta, Gonzalo Biffarella, Hans Tutschku, Jean Claude Risset, etc.

Recently finished his research of “Curso de especialización en vídeo y tecnologías digitales on-line/off-line 2006/2007” organized by Escuela Superior de Diseño ESDI y MECAD/ Media Centre d´Art i Disseny de ESDI – UNESCO – UNC.
